The brief was to create all programme graphics for the entire series of a nature documentary series for the Animal Planet and Discovery channel which was to consist of 40 Episodes. Jamie was brought in at the very early stages still during filming most of the episodes. The development producer had already come up with some basic graphics concepts to help create the concept of the show and it was Jamie’s task to take these and further develop them into the whole ident graphics for the show. Jamie helped develop the show title logo for the title sequence, the name straps, split screens, transitions and all other programme graphics.
Jamie replicated and appropriated these as and when needed for each episode. In each episode there were bespoke graphics required for specific things. This consisted of creating animations or graphic overlays for explainer sequences, when the story required the graphics to help the narrative along. This was in a very wide variety of ways and there ended in thousands of individual graphics clips for each episode.
