A brief history outline of Flayr FX
The company was started by Jamie Steedman in 2012 after he went freelance from leaving a permanent staff position as an editor in a London production company where he worked for 5 years previously.
Jamie is a motion graphic designer with a long background in design stretching back to his upbringing in Scotland in the 1980s.
The first three years Jamie operated as a sole trader
In 2015 Jamie changed from being a sole trader to starting a limited company calling it Flayr Media.
As the global pandemic kicked off Jamie changed Flayr Media into Flayr FX specialising more into motion graphics which is his main area of passion. Flayr FX sells stock motion graphics as well as operates as a post-production company.

Post-production is the final stage in filmmaking, video production, and photography that occurs after the initial filming or shooting. It involves various processes such as video editing, where footage is cut and arranged to create a coherent story, and sound editing, which adjusts audio levels and synchronises audio with video. Visual effects (VFX) are added to enhance or alter footage, and color correction and grading adjust colors to ensure consistency and set the visual tone. Sound design involves creating and integrating sound effects, while music composition and integration add a musical score or existing tracks to the project.
Additional post-production tasks include mixing all audio tracks into a final soundtrack, adding titles and graphics, and mastering the project to meet technical specifications for distribution. The final versions are then created in various formats for different platforms, such as cinema, television, online streaming, and physical media. Post-production is essential for polishing the project and ensuring it is ready for audiences, bringing all elements together into a finished product.

We have a great network of partners in the production industry from world renowned production and post-production houses based across the UK. A wide a varied client base have been with us all way including working with companies such as SKY, The Telepgraph Media Group and Pinewood Studios.
We don’t offer official internships, however we do offer a range of student training sessions in software packages such as Adobe After Effects. Students can choose either 1 our zoom lessons with our staff or they can come into our studio to shadow our designers for a day.
We sell a range of motion graphics assets from motion backgrounds to textures, animated textures, After Effects templates, plugins and much more.
